auto broker...yes?

I'm not the best at bargaining and dislike the hassle with buying a car. For norcal I think hammer auto (www.hammerauto.com) is the most popular auto broker.
Are there any tips for dealing with an auto broker? I may have a trade-in to deal with too.

Brokers are a great way to bring the price of a car down if you either can't bargain or you don't want to. Usually though if you CAN bargain the price can be better. Luckily I have my dad the wonder salesman that negotiates for me. He's the "big guns" lol and we were able to beat the brokers price on my car by a grand or so...

What are you looking at getting? What is the price the broker is going to charge? Brokers and/or locators are a mixed bag. Alot may depend on what you are looking to purchase. For example, if you are searching for a very hard to find car or some exotic or semi-exotic car they can be very useful locating with their various connections and sources, however, with cars that are more easily found I am not completely sold on their services. Some want as much as 6% of the purchase price in fees. I have not found their prices to be much better than asking prices of cars advertised for sale.

Your trade also adds another factor. Be prepared not to get top dollar with any trade.

well, my crunchy car got fixed ($12K repair bill) and completely covered by insurance, so my new car purchase won't be for a while.

hammerauto charges a flat $350...not bad.
