Cool People are pigs!

There we were - fat and happy and bookin' through the Ocala National Forest about nine pm. Thursday night, just watchin' out for any deer on our shoulder of the road, when suddenly... Whap-ap-ap-ap-ap-ap-ap-ap-ap!!!

Didn't feel like a flat tire so I hit the brakes and quickly pulled off the pavement. I grabbed the flashlight and what to my wondering eyes should I spy but a doubled strip of duct tape, about fourteen inches long, stuck perpendicular to the tread of my right front wheel. It had a tail of six or so inches to the outboard side! This tail had been smacking on the cladding at the bottom rear of the front wheel well. :scared Pulled the tape off and tossed it in my 'yuk' bucket.

First thing next day, I got down and looked at the cladding... Darn tape thing had smacked off some of the paint! While I was down there looking where the paint used to be and having a talk with the Lord, I spotted a shiny bit in the tire tread. Arrrrrrrrgh! Damn nail!!

Couldn't help it; I started laughing and promply went into the house. Didn't look at any other part of the SUV. I'll take a GOOD look this weekend. At least the paint damage (and upcoming repair) ain't terrible noticeable down there. Could almost do it with a roller.

Sure is a lotta junk on the roads these days! Whoda thunk - duct tape sticky side up.
