NEW Michelin Pilot Sport PS2

Just got the latest Pilot Sport PS2's put on my Bimmer. I think right now only tirereack is selling them, but later in 2004 Michelin will begin importing them.

All I have to say: WHOA NELLY! Feels like a totally different car!

Every aspect of the driving experience is improved with these new tires. Crisper handling, sharper steering, tighter road-feel, less body-lean through tight cornering, etc. MY 3 series coup drives like a race car now!

The car even feels faster with these babies!

You've got to check them out- gone is theV-tread pattern of the original Pilot Sports, in exchange for a new assymetrical tread on these PS2's.

Amazing difference!

Glad to hear you like the tire, Cattman!!

The PS2 will prolly end up being the best max performance tire money can buy. Bridgestone will need to intro a Pole Position S-04 to compete with the PS2.

I may need some tires for 17" rims I'm looking at. Those might come in handy. I can get tires at wholesale, so I'll have to investigate.

I got the PS2's on my GT3 as OEM and they're fantastic. I use the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup on the 996TT for track days and it's an excellent tire and even suitable for the street. The PS2 is very good compromise to the Cups for the street...

Excellent work Michelin...!!!

I love my Pilot Sports on my 18"s right now and I can't imagine anything better. Too bad it'll take me 3 years before I need to replace them.

Alhough at $166 they're not too bad. When I looked at the regular Pilot Sports they were $197 each.

UPDATE:
The more I drive them, the more I am impressed.

SUMMARY:
My little 3 series coupe drives like my friend's M3. Now imagine his M3 with a set of these tires?

CONCLUSION:
There is no under $1,000 upgrade you can give your car that will improve performance this much. OK OK, Fine, get a chip or a larger cold-air intake or free-flow exhaust (both of which will VOID your warrantee on a new car).

GRAND FINALE:
Driver confidence (not "Bling-Bling Big Pimpin'", "Sprewell Double Doucin'" cruiZin' confidence, but REAL driving confidence) will improve two-fold. If you don't trust my judgement, ask anyone with a set of the earlier generation Pilot Sports. Then learn about how the CURRENT PS2's blow them away.

are they quiet? smoother ride? I am surprised u put those tires on in this extremely cold weather.... not very good for summer tires (causes them to harden/crack)

He is speaking the truth. I put on 4 Michelin Hydro edge and found a
great difference in performance handling etc. Michel I feel make the best
tires that are available. Costs a little more. But your getting quality.
