Mercedes Clubs and Parts

As I have mentioned before, I have recently inhereted a 1968 Mercedes 230S in need of some love. I have been looking on the internet for parts for the car, and have found a few sites that carry the basic mechanical parts, but I have yet to find anybody that provide me with body and interior parts. Does anybody here know of some Mercedes owner's clubs where I could make some contatcs? There are several parts that I need for the car like rocker panels, upholstery and carpet, A/C control levers and the list goes on...

I plan to bring the car back to the condition that my grandfather had it in before he died. The car isn't in good enough condition to even consider a full restoration, and frankly I don't have the time or money to do so. I just want a nice driver that will basically be a tribute to my grandfather and how much he loved the car. I have linked the pictures below. The car is pretty rough in the pictures, but I have cleaned it up and will be buying a cover for it soon. Oh, and the lisence plates - OL AG 44, my grandfather graduated from Texas A&M in 1944. Those plates were a birthday present to him two years before he passed away.

Thanks in advance for any help, I know I won't be disappointed.

here, these guys have been around for years.

I can also make a strong recommendation to join the national MBz club as their bi-monthly pulbication has tons of ads for parts and services for all ages of MBz cars.

good luck and happy hunting.

most, if not all, of the required parts can still be purchased directly from the dealership.

MB has one of the most incredible parts availabilities that I know of.

Thanks guys, I have actually acquired a few parts from a local dealer (fuel pump, hood star, carb gaskets), but I can't afford to do it all that often. Ebay seems to have some good stuff pop up every now and then.

IndigoGTI- I think I've said this before, but COOL CAR, ever so much MORE so given its provenance.

I want to second tom p.'s suggestion to join the national club. They'll direct you towards a local chapter. Accumulatorette and I belonged back when we drove Benzes and we both enjoyed it. In fact, the last time we were on a track was with the local Benz club chapter, we took our SECs down to Mid-Ohio. The members were NOT stuffy/snooty or anything like that. And you'll find a lot of good parts, info, and contacts through the club. If you'd rather NOT be actively involved, you can just join the national club without having to go through a local chapter.
