Question How long do you plan on keeping your car

I have people call me crazy because I "spend to much time and money" on my cars.
Well besides loving to see my cars clean I do plan on keeping them for a long time.
I have a 2002 Explorer XLT with leather seating and a V8 on it, the other is a 2003 Suzuki XL7 Limited.
With Autopian type of care how long do you say I can keep them for?
And you what do you drive and its life expectancy?
Who is driving the oldest? No rust allowed this is Autopia

unless the C6 is completely over the top, i.e. great looking and 500hp, I'm keeping this one for a long time.

I've got a 1990 Accord. Haven't had car payments for 8 years now and as long as it still runs good, I'm not in any huge hurry to get anything new (or newer). My car sits outside 24/7 and other than a slight (now noticable) thinning of the clear coat on the roof, the paint still looks great, especially considering it is nearly 14 years old.

2002 honda civic ex, and i plan on keeping it till it dies. Im sorry, but I am not a person who can just keep buying cars every 2-3 years. I'd rather buy one every 6-7 and get the life out of the car I invested my money into.

Scottwax has the real deal.

1988 Accord with 117K (but VA-VT trips add up) that runs better than at my purchase two years ago with 45K.

Weekly wash, bi-monthly semi-Autopia treatment.

No car payments and last year's VA state car tax: $2.32. To reiterate, that's two hundred and thirty-two pennies

I am with you but I think I will get the Z06 with HP500+ in 2007.

I have a Z06/2003 Torch red. 4500 miles on it.

I have a Chevy Avalanche white Z71 16,500. The Avalanche will be with me for long time.

My RX300 - maybe two years tops. I get bored with cars fast.

Depends on the car. I still have the '85 Jaguar XJS I bought new and my '84 Volvo wagon has been in the family since new. Most other cars, I trade when I like something else better. Might be a while until I like something better than the S8!

Accumulatorette keeps her cars for a pretty long time, usually well over 100K miles. As she just HATES the new Audis, she might keep her A8 forever (she says she plans to). She only replaced her last Audi because it got totaled, she thought it was just getting broken in at 95K (still had the original clutch and turbo and looked showroom).

Well, as of right now I have a '93 Miata that works pretty good for me, but I might be trading up to a '95 325i!

As these are being my "first" cars, I'll be keeping them for a good 4-5 years (whichever one I get "stuck" with).

Well, I bought two Hondas and plan on driving them for a long time. I can not wait to get the 2001 Civic paid for then I won't have a car payment!

We're keeping our 2002 Passat for two more years... then it's time to visit the MINI dealer again!
