WooHoo!! We're #1 ...Go Escape!!!!
oh, wait....
I guess I've been pretty lucky not to have a single problem since I bought mine almost 2 years ago. Still, this worries me. It's probably going to kill my resale value.

Funny about the Civic. Something isn't jiving there because Phil Edmonston's book "Lemon Aid" and Consumer Reports both rate Civics as one of the best cars to buy.

Finding the Honda Civic on the list did not suprise me one bit. We bought a 2 year old '98 Civic EX coupe for my daughter 3 years ago. We made the purchase based on people's testimonies of their reliablilty and durability (ie. basic maintenance is all that is required). Our mileage has certainly varied. As my daughter is able, we will be selling the Civic and replacing it with.......NOT a Honda.

That is very weird indeed. My 95 Civic SI has 250,000 on it and I haven't done anything but regular maintenance (I am quite religious about this). Two of my neighbours and three of my friends own 1989-1991 civics each with over 300,000 and they don't do anything to them other than oil changes and tune ups.
These things happen I guess. My father in-law had a 1986 Chevette for years and never had any trouble with it. I had a 1985 Chevette and had nothing but problems.
There are many good cars out there so I’m sure you’ll have no problem finding what you’re after.

Jeeeeeze people! where do you drive to??? Neither of my '99 Honda motors have more than 60,000 on them. How do you rack up 105,000 in 3 years? That's like 3000 miles a month! That is nearly as bad as Mr. 30,000 Miles Per Year civic up there. lol Gotta love the Honda for miliage.
You also have to consider that the number of 5,843 complaints is probably out of a much higher production number of vehicles than the 6,145 complaints on the Aztec. That is probably a 1:1 complaint ration for Pontiac and a 1:10,000 ratio for Honda.
I guess I would rather buy a car where I stand an excellent chance of having a car that is capable of 200,000 + miles rather than buying a car where you have an excellent chance of blowing a head gasket before you reach 60,000 miles. Oh, wait.... I did both of those. LOL Not anymore though. For me and my family it will be Honda or Subaru or nothing. I guess as long as my wife is in charge it will be Honda or nothing.

oh yeah... Jngrbrdman... 3000/month isn't "nearly as bad" as 30,000/year... it's 6000 more than that oh... and it's 2916.667 miles/month for 105,000 in 3 years
I put 20-30,000 on a year easy... course it doesn't help that it's a 45 minute drive to the movie theater (or it was back home in NH anyway)
