Anyone Drive the new Acura TSX?
My friend got one. It looked really sharp with the optional 17" spoked wheels he got and the factory body kit. I was amazed at the interior, the fit and finish, and all the goodies it came standard with all for under 30K. It only has a 4 banger but it had decent power with the smoooooth shifting 6 speed. The voice activated navigation system was the highlight of the car. It basically controls everything.....the radio, climate control, and navi. To make a long story short, I would seriously consider this car for an under 30K sports sedan. I was considering replacing my BMW with an Audi A4, but for the money this car will be a strong competitor. Next year the redesigned TL comes out, and it's supposed to have 280+ HP! Go Acura!

I thought the idea was that you wanted AWD? The Acura's won't give you that.

Yeah, the Navi systems in the Acuras are pretty slick. I didn't want to wait for this option for my car, so I didn't get it. Looking back at it, I should've waited.
It's about time they got a 6 speed into their sedans. Nissan's had them for a while. In your case, if you're thinking about going from a 3 series to an A4 or TSX, I vote you take a real good look at the 04 TL instead of the TSX. Just wait a few more months.

The TSX is a real looker...nicest thing they've put out since a couple recent missteps. I chased one down on the highway and my wife and I gave the driver a big thumbs-up. I think the woman (conservative, middle aged) didn't quite get it!
Sure wish Honda would concede and give us RWD or AWD. I was expecting it for the long-awaited RSX (using some stuff out of the excellent S2000 parts bin), but no go. OTH, no one does FWD better than Honda.

I'm holding out for a TSX Type S. Now that car will be the bomb. The regular TSX already does 200 HP out of a 4 cylinder engine. Imagine what they could do with a V6 if the decided to do something like that.
Me personally, I would go for the TSX over the TL just based on the styling. I don't know what the price difference is, but I know they are designed to appeal to a different consumer demographic. The TSX is kind of your entry luxury sedan I figure. Its definitely worth test driving at least. Its a really smooth car.
I've got a thing against buying a brand spanking new car just because of the economics of it. I'm going to hold out for an early lease return and pick one up then. If Jennifer liked her Accord then she'll love the TSX. I know I will.

Really? There are several in the parkade I park in, and I find the styling a bit boxy for my tastes. A bit too much like the EL which is sold up here, which is a glorified Civic sedan.
I find the TL and the CL to be much sexier, with the smooth, flowing lines.

www.clubtsx.com is a fun one too.
I thought the EL was cool the first time I saw one. Then I started to see what you are saying about them being glorified Civics. I guess I need to see a TL and a TSX side by side. I've been drooling over the TSX for so long that I can't remember what a TL looks like off the top of my head. I think I'll keep waiting till the real Euro Accord comes over. Now that thing looks nice!

You could be waiting a while....I was just over in Scotland with my wife last month, and man, they get some neat little cars. I rented a turbo-diesel (gas is 86p a liter over there - like $1.70 US) Ford Fusion 2, a very fuel efficient, peppy little car which was super roomy. Lots of Peuguots and Renaults over there. Saw a total of 8 SUV's over there, two of which were police vehicles. The land of sub-compacts!

Ditto! (Except that thing about the parkade. )
I really like the TL myself.

Detailking,
I got a TSX about a month ago (okay, my wife did, but I do get to drive it sometimes ). Anyway, we like it a lot. I think it's a great car for the money, and it looks very classy (personal opinion, obviously). One of the most noteable things is that I don't think there are many (if any) cars that offer the same level of luxury for the price. If you're looking for something like it, I highly recommend you go take a test drive, it's a great car.
Jngr,
If you're going to go look for TL pics to refresh your memory, make sure you look for the all-new 2004 TL (not out yet) that SK2003TypeS was referring to (pics here: http://www.acura-tsx.com/forums/show...&threadid=1101). Personally, I like the TSX better because of the smaller size (it also fit our budget a whole lot better than what's expected of the TL).

What's wrong with the BMW 3 series that you need to get rid of it? I'd take a 330i over a TSX any day of the week. And probably over the TL also! Unless the brand new TL ups the ante on performance seriously, and not with just horsepower.
The TSX to me is sort of a tweener between being a glorified Civic and the TL. Now the EL, THAT is a glorified Civic!
I think Acura is discontinuing the CL soon because of poor sales.
