Although I haven't been on the boards for quite some time now, bimmer.org has been riddled with punks and @$$es for some time now and have ruined it.
Bimmerfest sprung up as a result of people that were tired of all the tom foolery.
None of the boards have people that are as helpful as the ones you find here

There is also the http://www.digest.net/bmw/ I have not used it myself, but I have used the Alfa (Romeo) Digest for the last 5 years or so and it is very very good.
