Escort Cordless vs other Escort radar detectors

I recently purchased a Escort Solo radar detector. I got a great deal so I couldn't pass it up. After some reading it seems the cordless detectors are very lacking with range. I know the Escort Solo has an optional cord. With this optional cord does the solo then become as good as the other Escort's (7500 or 8500) or will it always be behind the others when it comes to detection range?

Thanks.
Gary

The problem I see with cordless ones is that they lose range very quickly when the batteries start to run down.

I've also got the solo s2 cordless, its pretty good. The battery life is extended by the fact that the lights are shutdown until a threat is detected.

Radartests

Radarbusters

check out these two sites for reviews on all detectors.

Believe it or not the s2 comes very close to the 8500.

Take information found at http://www.radartest.com with a grain of salt. Craig Peterson, the guy who runs the site, apparently has had an axe to grind with V1. Check http://www.valentine1.com/lab/V1Hater.asp for the story . . .
