Anybody catch the BMW films today on Speedvision. They played what looked like the whole series. That was some bad a$$ driving. Anybody know if the cars were stock, or were they special?

From what I have read and heard the BMW's are completely stock. Those driving videos are great though. I especially like the reverse 360 with the forward high speed drive away.

The M5 is my new dream car!!

Cheers,

Glomis

The "Star" movie is great! I like it the best... I don't get the Substories though... how does it relate with each movie? I even tried the website the provided on the note card.

Thumbs up BMW Films !!

I just bought an M5, included with the purchase is the BMW high performance dirving school (my wife liked it way too much). They previewed the Star Video for us and told us that the cars used in the video were M5s from the school the ones we were driving (stock M5s). Also the car in the jump scene was a BMW 540 in disguise, not an M5 as the car was destroyed. The director, Guy Ritche, is Madonna's husband and yes Madonna is the Star in the video. Very funny stuff !

Yeah, on the Driving Teqnique (sp?) video, it showed a 540i with ///M5 mirrors doing the 180 degree turn.

However, the car in the jump (in both the DT and Star movie) looked like an ///M5 (mirrors, bumper, wheels.) Anyone know more about this?

You are correct all of the external parts are M5, the BMW manager at the performance center told us is was externally identical, but a 540 underneath. The work was done at the training/performance center.
