Join Date: Mar 2001 Location: NJ Posts: 3,207 | What is your hand position while driving? On busy stop and go roads, I usually rest my left elbow on the door arm rest and hold the wheel with that hand at the 9 o-clock position, while the other hand stays on the shifter.
During highway driving, I find myself resting both elbows on the arm rests and holding the wheel on the bottom portion at 4 o-clock and 8 o-clock positions.........

of course, thats only what i've heard, dont know if theres any truth to it  | |

| I just went to a safe driving course here at work; we have to go to one every 5 years. The instructor was a retired California Highway Patrol officer. He recommended the 4 and 8 o'clock positions because of injuries from air bags. So.... that's what I've heard too.
