Unhappy insurance time?

hi, i was involved in an accident tonight and i was wondering how long it would take me to get my car repaired. i already called my insurance company and made a claim and the adjuster will contact me within 48 hours. in your experience, does your insurance company try to **** you over? it wasn't my fault but my car is damaged and i shouldn't drive it until it gets checked out. from the looks of it, it's mostly body damage. anything i should know before it gets fixed?

happy new year

You might want to send a PM to NYDetailer. He's an insurance adjuster and I'm sure can help you out.

I'd suggest getting the damage appraised by a few repair shops you are considering using. For me, the repair shop quote and items that needecd repair cost about $1000 more then what the insurance company said was wrong with the car. I can now show them both the insurance appriaser estimate who spent 5 minutes in the rain with the car and the private shop that spent 30 minutes going over the damage. I figure that helps to get a bit more so the car is repaired correctly. Plus, this lets you check out the shops you are considering using - make sure they are pros, check out their work, and they should also be able to provide an esitmate of how long it will take.

Just FYI, my bumper cover needs to be replaced and the front passenger corner repainted and blended and they sid it will take 2 weeks. Always count on more time and more dmage then what it looks like.
