Prepare to cry if you love the mighty Integra....

Found this pic on another website. Its a Type R. A moment of silence.....

This is what I read from another board: "the police said he was going about 100-110 in a 35 zone and came over a hill with a slight bend(some people said he drove that way all the time I never met him so I couldn't tell you) most people think it was an animal or something in the road but the *** end went out and he was tring to control it his GF was thrown into the trunk area as the rear of it was striped for auto-X that is the only reason she lived from what I understand. the car hit a tree on the passenger side. from the people I talked to who knew him well said he had just signed onto a F2000 team and had been driving shifter carts since age 12(he was 19) so he definatly knew how to drive"

Pretty awful. No driving 100 mph in a 35 zone!

Here are some links to the board he was a member of...

This is why street racing is a bad idea - no matter how good a driver and how glued-down the car. A street is a street and a track is a track. His GF is really lucky though.

Oh yes, and I do happen to like those Type Rs... unless riced out of course.

there have been a few street race accidents that have resulted in similar scenes around here, but this is the worst i've seen

Recently there's been an accident just a few blocks away from me in which a RCMP officer (Jimmy Ng) was killed instantly when some street racing punk in a brand new Civic Si T-boned his cruiser through a red light. Then the ******* just hopped in his buddy's car and they drove away! They either came forward or were caught later though. Street racing has always been a hot issue here, and this really got people's attention and made big headlines. He was a local too, who went to my high school... poor guy.

The sad thing is that this wasn't the result of street racing. It was just someone going too fast on a road he should have known better on. It could happen to anybody who is testing out the limit of their car. I'm definatly going to think twice before I open it up on a nice deserted road next time. You never know what could happen.

Yes, evidence of his expert driving ability is right there in the photo.

As I am a person that has went to no less than 5 funerals just this summer, and 3 of them being from auto wrecks, I doesnt matter if your going 100mph or 35. All it takes is a second and everything is over.

That's really unfortunate. One thing's for sure though.....good driving skills and good decision making don't always accompany each other. I knew someone who "purportedly" had good driving skills (attended some school) and also liked to drag race his riced-out 2nd gen integra. One night, after losing control of his vehicle, he hit something and his car got sliced in half...sort of like that picture. Luckily, he survived.

That's why there are racetracks. I am pretty average on the street, but I track my bikes. Going to Laguna Seca next month. If you really want to see how good you are, take it to the track. No barriers, no dogs, or pedestrians. Just you and the tarmac. Good fun.

4DSC, you knew Jimmy Ng. I saw pics of his parents and man, they're strong people. Only child, too. They should crucify those punks.

They were caught because there was like 50 witnesses on the road. All they have to do is run the plates. Plus the guy was probably hurt pretty bad, so he would have had to have medical help too.

Just a reminder to slow down and drive Defensively. It does not matter how much driving experience you have because all it takes is an instant.

this is fourth or fifth civic or intengra which I have seen recently with the front detached from the rest of the car or that severe amount of damage. I must be morbid because I look at the salvage vehicle auction sites, where I have viewed these cars. I was @ the police impound auction last week and in the impound there was several very mangel cars, none of which were for auction. These are reminders for me to let me know how dangerous driving is.

No offense Jngr, but I consider that to be "racing with yourself" - especially if you're doing 100 in a 35 zone! No one said there has to be 2 cars in a race...
