Trucks dropping rocks/pebbles on the frwy?

I'm sure many of you hate it when you get on the freeway and some big ol' truck is in front of you spraying your ride with rocks, stones, etc. According to the LA Times today, now in California, we can do something, call 800-TELL CHP and report the truck, they can be held liable if your vehicle was damaged due to their load spewing out on the road. Try to get the license plate number too! It's about time

Usually if you get the plate number and find out what company owns the truck you can call them and work it out with them directly.

As long as the damage was done by something falling off the truck and not something a tire picked up and threw at you.

IF the truck company tells you to go away then you can tell the police. They have insurance policies to cover that kind of stuff so most will take care of it .

man, where was this post 2 months ago.

damn cememnt mixer gets in front of me and has dry cement chips flying at my car. I had to brake down to about 30 on the freeway, switch lanes and gun it to avoid the path of destruction. Unfortunatly, the damage was done and the edge of my hood looked like swiss cheese with all the dings in the white paint.
