Got to drive some new Cadillacs over the weekend including the XTS, ATS, and a CTS-V Coupe.... simply amazing cars!

We did a "First Drive" review on the ATS for another forum I'm a news contributor on, check it out:

[Unofficial] First Drive: 2013 Cadillac ATS

Note to self: Never make the mistake of going from a V6 to an I4.... always drive the less powerful car first or it will be a letdown!

I'm just a fan of my own '89 Coupe deVille which Ill never get rid of; finally got the new headliner in it.

    C. Charles Hahn- Hey, very cool that you got to be in on that!

I myself....well, I love the performance they're selling these days, but between the looks and the, uhm..."modern features" I won't be buying one.

I was very interested in the ATS but didn't want to wait for it to come out and it would have been priced higher than I wanted to spend with all the options I was looking for. The resale value is not the greatest either, but nice cars for sure!

I absolutely love the CTS-V Coupe. I'm so jealous that you drove one! One of my top picks for drivers.

I figured all the gadgetry wouldn't appeal to you... But the performance aspect is truly impressive for sure!

Resale in that segment in general is hit-and-miss; as far as the price a base model is surprisingly cheap, but the way the have the options packaged is a bit annoying -- drives the price up quick. I'm anxiously awaiting the ATS-V with the 3.6L Twin Turbo V6

That car was nothing short of amazing; 556H plants you in the seat pretty authoritatively, and at full throttle almost the only thing you hear is supercharger whine. And for being such a beast, it's incredibly composed to drive. LOVED it!

My V Coupe is by far the most fun car I've ever driven...including my '62 Corvair, '67 Firebird 400, '97 M3, '03 350Z and '05 CTS-V. Garry Dean has Opti-Guarded my Thunder Gray coupe and the car looks fabulous and is fabulous to drive!

Mike (feels blessed to have experienced these vehicles)

I just wish I had a beer and a lawn chair after I polished and Opti-Guarded MSOsr's CTS-V... I could sit and check that car out all day... I got my kicks just looking at it sitting still... That says a lot coming from a guy who couldnt care less about most "fancy" cars...

Is it crazy that he posted just before me, lol...?

The 99-04 Sevilles were great looking cars and very reliable over all. A pretty nice driver even though FWD.

I was also rather impressed by the Cadillac Racing team's tow rig:

Swirl free as best I could tell. Only Cadillac Silverado 3500-V I've ever seen

What a great experience! I did something very similar for Caddy here in St. Louis a couple years ago. They really spoil you. I still wear the cool sweatshirt they gave me as one of the items of swag. (Though it seems to puzzle my Porsche buddies! )

Nothing wrong with being a non-discriminatory auto enthusiast! At this event they were handing out Cadillac Racing t-shirts which are very nice as well. Also got an autographed poster for the garage from Johnny O'Connell (current Cadillac Racing driver, formerly of Corvette Racing during the C5R and early C6R eras).
