nothing is wrong with it, the $ is so cheap because my dad wants to sell it to me, should I buy it or should I buy a 1997 or 1998 Mustang for 6,000

Also do you know if they can be souped up for max look and performance

2001 Honda LX is worth way more than $3,000. You could drive it for a couple of years, sell it and then probably buy 2 1997 or 1998 mustangs. Or you could just buy it now, sell it and buy a mustang and have lots of extra cash.

Sheesh... I've got a 99 Accord LX and I still owe 3 times that. I say go for it. It isn't designed to be riced up like a Civic so if you are looking at getting into the import scene then the Accord isn't the right car at all. They don't really make that many parts for it. Its probably an Automatic anyway so it limits your ability to really get it going good anyway. Save up some more money and get a 95 Integra GSR or something. You can get one for 5 or 6 grand by now. That would be the best car if you are looking at breaking into the Honda import scene.

5 speed or not, the Accord is not a race car. Buy the car for 3 grand and then sell it for 13 grand, which is what the thing is worth. Don't get the Mustang if you have the choice. The resale value on a 97 Mustang is probably 6 grand. The resale value on a 01 Accord is closer to 13 grand. Don't be foolish. Get the Accord and then sell it or trade it in. If you want a race car then you need to be looking at different Honda cars. Take your profit and put it down on an S2000 or something.
