Covercraft Windshiled Sun Shades

I am looking at getting a new windshield sun shade becuase the one I have now is a few years old, and its is a roll up shield. After folding it and unfolding it many times it wants to go back to the rolled up position and not cover the windshield completely. Anyways, I have been looking at the Covercrat UVS 100 sun shields, since these seem to be made for specific vehicles and not some one size fits all universal fit. Have any of you all tried them? How well did they fit in your vehicle?

By your username, I am guessing you have a Subaru Legacy. How does it fit in your car? Does it cover most of the windshield completely? For mine being a dealer accessory sunshade it does not fit well at all or cover the windshield as good as it should.

Another thing I have been wondering about is how thick is the material sunshade itself, and does it feel flimsly at all when folded out? My current shade is so flimsy anymore than it doesn't want to sit up well with the visors down, so I want something that will last for a while. Also how thick is it when folded up, is it real bulky or is it small enoguh to be stored in the back seat.

I just want to make sure that this is one of the best shades out there and something that will work best for me

It is not constructed like most sunshields -- much heavier. The fit is excellent. Since it is heavier and stiff, it can be a little more effort to work with. Unlike cheapers flexible ones, I would not sit anything on it (like if you put it in the backseat) where the center is unsupported since if you do bend it you could damage it. I also picked up the extra cover.

I have to position my sun visors well down (swivel more than the usual lighter ones) to hold up against the windshield.

It has a more cloth like covering over a fiberboard or something, not the usual reflective mylar, so I thought it may not last. But, it seems to be holding up.

Do you happen to have any pics of it installed in your vehicle with it installed? Maybe you could tell me this, how close it is to touching the headliner at the top of the windshield when installed? I doon't really want to gt something that touches it everytime when installing it and removing it, I want to keep down premature wear if possible to it

ive been wondering about these things. does it keep the car much cooler or is mainly to keep the UV off the dash? i have a dash cover so im not really worried about the UV thing
