Good, you've got years on me, then, I didn't learn to be a smart *** until much later. I can see you're going to be a lot more successful than me....

Because I want to?

Sounds like a good enough reason to me.

Re: I'm vinyl wrapping my Lexus.

I've given thought to flat black wrapping my Vue Redline a few times. I think eventually I'm just going to two tone it with some glossy black wraps on the roof and top and possibly hood.

Re: I'm vinyl wrapping my Lexus.

I found a local distributor. Thanks to those who helped.

Re: I'm vinyl wrapping my Lexus.

The only kind I would bother with is Oracal 970RA. Matte black takes six weeks to arrive from Germany, however, as it's a european market color.

If I had seen this earlier I could've helped out a lot more.

Re: I'm vinyl wrapping my Lexus.

Not sure if you're entirely opposed to the idea of paint or not, but I did the paintjob on my '77 Mercury Monarch with John Deere Blitz Black paint.

Here's the writeup:
$44 paintjob = teh hAwtness. - CICENetwork - Forums

Not sure if the pictures will show up as a guest, so here's what the final result was:

$44 paintjob. Yes, FORTY-FOUR DOLLARS.

Congrats. It will look terrible soon just like any flat paint job / primer.

Re: I'm vinyl wrapping my Lexus.

I don't know about that. Have you ever read on any of the $50 paint jobs? The guy did a corvair and 8 years later it still looks as fresh as the day he painted it. This is becoming very very popular among the muscle car collectors.

Rickwrench, Alfa GTV, Falcon Squire, Corvair

It's the same paint that's used to coat the fenderliners of John Deere tractors.

It's resistant to almost everything (dirt, water, mud, poo, agricultural chemicals, gasoline, oil, etc.)

I got bombarded by a bunch of angry pigeons, that seemed to have had a case of the splatters. The whole car was covered in bird poo, and all it took was the 20 minute thunderstorm to wash it all off.

John Deere Blitz Black??

I'm not saying it won't ever fade, but considering how fast I go through cars, I'm not too worried about it fading in 3-5 years.
