Re: Talk me out of this

Well I won't be as radical as Perferd, but Chrysler isn't a very attractive company to do any business with now I think. And taking a loan to buy a new car with just getting started at a new job isn't very rational IMO. I would not take a loan to buy a car, I hate to be in debt, earn the money first, then buy what you want.

Best to just not think about it any more. Factoring in that it's not CPO would mean that I'd spend another 2k on an extended warranty most likely, eliminating the "good deal" part of the equation. And raising the payments. And a car with MB parts that isnt under warranty doesnt seem like a good idea for me right now.
You have chosen wisely.

Re: Talk me out of this

You guys crack me up...at least until the gas price blowup last year, 50% of the vehicles sold in the US are classified as trucks (6000 lbs GVW or higher)...in other words no one gives a rat's behind about gas mileage.

However, I applaud the concern for it in this thread.

Trucks sold so well cause they were practically half off. Also many people were buying them for work trucks starting up side jobs or what not...

Re: Talk me out of this

My own personal daily driver is a well worn Mitsubishi compact with a 165K on it. As much as I would want a newer, better performing car, I haven't had a car payment in 6 years. The car is very reliable and I usually budget some money for annual upkeep (hello tax refund check). Basically, my rule of thumb is that when a repair is greater than the value of the car (i.e. transmission, major engine work) then I will buy a newer one. Until then, I will put along with this. I hope this experience helps you in your decison.
*Also, you should be able to get that car much cheaper than that in several months anyway.

Well, I do have an IQ of 83...

Sorry, the F150 became the most popular vehicle sold in the US in 1982 or so...and it wasn't because it was being sold for half off. And the SUV didn't become the vehicle of choice for housewives because they have a side business. Maybe LAST year the trucks were going for half off, but I wasn't talking about last year, I was talking about the last decade and a half.

Re: Talk me out of this

Besides the other reasons already mentioned, I definitely wouldn't want that car as my DD simply because the color.

The car just screams "LOOK AT ME!" I'm a low ley person and with that color its just too much for me.

As a weekend car it might be nice.
