The Valentine One is the only unit I would trust

Re: Radar Detector

the V1 is a great detector...but for a hundred less (new) the passport 8500 is a fine alternative. It actually beat the V1 in a few range tests by quite a bit on side by side hwy test.

My Passport is awesome. Of course I'd love to have the V1 with its arrows and what not.

Re: Radar Detector

Good luck selling!

I sold mine a few months ago for ~185, hopefully you can get a little better than that.

Re: Radar Detector

The 8500 X50 is a very decent detector (I've owned one for quite some time) if laser is not a concern. The V1 has no competition in terms of laser detection. It's far ahead of the others.

Re: Radar Detector

For laser protection NOTHING comes close to the Laser interceptor! Good stuff. Its funny to see LEO's shaking the laser guns wondering whats wrong lol
I am a very happy customer with no monetary gains from this post

Re: Radar Detector

I like my passport but had to turn off the laser detection because of frequent false alarms.

Re: Radar Detector

I have an Escort Solo 2 radar detector that has saved me a few times. For me, my radar detector is like an American Express card... "don't leave home without it!"

I've had a V1 for years, and I love it, but let's be honest--the V1, like *any* radar detector, is useless when it comes to laser. If it detects it, it's too late.

Actually, not necessarily true. I've gotten laser pops from the car in front of me several times. But if you're alone you're toast. I got hit this morning with laser on y way to do a detail. Fortunately, I was going 5 under...
