Re: What vehicle are you thinkng about buying and why?

2002-2003 Maxima 6 speed. A family friend of mine bought it new, and I will pick it up from him in the next year or so.

My Oldsmobile books for so little (and gives me such few problems), it isn't worth getting rid of. It will just be my second car.

Re: What vehicle are you thinkng about buying and why?

Let's see. I normally buy used because I like other people to eat the depreciation first. Just have to keep an eye out for one that's been taken care of.

My shortlist would be a Nissan Altima or Maxima (not sure if I can go back to FWD), an E36 M3/4 (though those are getting harder to find, a G35, or a CTS-V. But with gas prices going the way they are, that last one may be not as likely.

I guess I might do a 330i zhp if I could find one reasonably priced. I just don't like the larger dimensions/additional weight of the e46 though.

To be quite honest, I'm still really pleased with my 328i and can't see pushing it out to pasture anytime soon. I figure the best deal in a new car is to put off buying one as long as you can if not completely.

Looking at a 3-series Coupe! Such a good looking vehicle, and a second hand one can be picked up on the cheap these days...

Re: What vehicle are you thinkng about buying and why?

I don't need anything, but my Z4M has become a bit tiresome as a daily driver.

I went and drove some Audi A8s last weekend and really enjoyed them. Considering a 2006 model, long wheelbase.

Just picked up a 1987 Mercedes Benz 560 SL. Low mileage garage queen. I plan on using her as a toy for the summer.

With two kids (and their friends) and all the traveling that we do, we just replaced our '00 Honda Odyssey with a '08 Odyssey. Even though we barely paid more than we did for the last one we got sooooo much more with this one. It's just in time for our big annual road trip in a couple weeks.

Re: What vehicle are you thinkng about buying and why?

I need another vehicle like a hole in the head, but I still keep toying with various ideas

simracer- Yeah, I suspect my wife would say that the best deal on a car is often... not buying one

No secret here that I'm a real A8/S8 fanatic...I'm a short-wheelbase/old-style grill guy myself, but yeah..that's a nice car. Just make sure you have a *GOOD* Audi mechanic, you'll probaly need him at some point.

Re: What vehicle are you thinkng about buying and why?

I plan on getting a new vehicle sometime in the next 6 months to make more room for our expected baby so I am looking at either a used Grand Prix GXP or a new HHR SS.

Yeah, the maintenance costs seem a bit scary. I'm shooting for something with LOTS of warranty left. If I find the right one, I'll probably jump on it in the next 6 months or so.

The Chevrolet Volt. The car that will save GM.

The plug in car with a 40 mile battery, but also has a gas generator for additional 350+ miles.

If you have less than a 20 mile commute, you no longer pay for gas.
