What's your wheel cleaning technique - P21S Gel

I've decided to run softer brake pads...which = more dust & more frequent cleaning.
Curious to how you guys clean your wheels in conjunction with how you apply product..per say. As with anything, most of the product just drips down to the floor anyhow.

In the past, I used APC and just went at it with a sheepskin sponge. In between that, I used car wash soap....which doesn't really get the grime off typical NYC streets.

I've gone back to using P21S gel and also a very light cut APC in between 20:1.
With the P21S, not wanting to waster product...I generally do a initial with the sprayer and just just my wheel brush to foam/agitate the product on the wheel. I know many have advised to let the P21S soak....but eventually, most of all that product either drips to the floor or drips to the inner barrel. Every couple of minutes when I see the product ~dry~, I just walk over, take the brush....dab the brush where the gel has run down and agitate away...

Maybe I'm over analyzing this, but after spending 2.5 hrs doing a full concours level detail on the calipers, I'm looking to maintain the overall cleanliness of things.

Easy Off oven cleaner

just kidding. I use a seperate small bucket of car wash soap with a wheel brush. Once a month, I'll pull the wheel off the car, wash the entire wheel and give it a nice coating of wax.
