Trading cars?

I currently own a 2003 Lancer Evolution and absolutely love the car, but I'm thinking of trading it for a Mazdaspeed 6 (would think about a Mazdaspeed 3, but I need AWD due to the weather here in Reno). The reason is it would be a more comfortable car to daily drive and has a nicer interior. Not as fast or as much of a track car than an Evo, but still fun and from what I've seen may be a little more reliable. I would be doing small upgrades to it (full exhaust, boost controller, intercooler and piping, intake and minor suspension upgrades) as well. The dealership I worked at in GA got one in and offered me a straight up trade, no cash would change hands, for my Evo, but the car didn't have leather and if I'm going to buy this car i'd really like leather. Just looking for any input from anyone who has had experience with these cars.

Re: Trading cars?

Keep the evo, its faster, cooler, and just plain better. A 6 would be downgrading man.

Re: Trading cars?

I would trade up! I assume (due to the limited years of production for the Mazdaspeed 6) that its at least an '06? Is that correct?
Here are the breakdowns between the two;
Evo M6
271hp 274hp
273ft/lbs 280ft/lbs
5.27 0-60 6.1 0-60

So your other points are probably more valid. Realiabilty I would say Mazda...and the Mazda doesn't look so boy-racer. Would you ever really feel the difference between the 0-60 times? I doubt it. If you like the 6 and want something newer then I would go for it. The retail for both car; Evo approx $17K and the 6 approx. $20.5K to 22K. So the even trade might not be bad either. Obviously I dont know the condition or milage on either. That is my .02!

I would do it. Just have leather installed into it.
