Need help: 05' Frontier is pricey

Hello,

I was wondering how many here work in the car industry. I currently still owe about $17.5k on my Nissan Frontier. But. Its costing me $412.23 a month and honestly. I can barely make due with it.

What would be my best bet if i wanted to sell it and/or trade it in without screwing myself over?

I would like to avoid trading it in, because i would need to find a car worthy enough of being around the same price and then pretty much making the same high payment.

would my best bet be selling private party and only getting like $1-2k back? i can probably sell it for 19k private i think....

got any ideas? I want to be in the $200-250 range but even $300 is better than $412.23

Not to mention my insurance on this truck is costing me $260 a month.

Thanks,
adam

Have you attempted to refinance it at a lower rate (if one exists)? In addition checking insurance rates online is quite easy. My point being...... if you like the vehicle and can lower the payment and insurance you might be able to keep it.

If that is not an option your only move, in my opinion, is to sell it for more than the payoff. The downside is you will be without a car for a time and only have $1-2K to put down if your numbers are correct.
