Re: Honda Accord V6

congrats on your excellent choice! Have you decided coupe or sedan? in town recently i've seen a white sedan and a black coupe and a red coupe, and i have to say the coupe in black is absolutely stunning! performance-wise, Road & Track liked the car a lot-performance was not AMAZING, but pretty good for a family car

Re: Honda Accord V6

one thing you might want to be aware of. i don't know about the 08 accords but previous years used a timing belt to run the engine as appose to a timing chain many other v6's use. the bad part of useing a belt instead of a chain is the belt needs to be replace every 60,000 miles or so. it's a big job with alot of labor = big $$$. i wouldn't let it change your decision if they're still using timing belts but you should be aware of it.

Re: Honda Accord V6

Chains FTW! The Sonata has a chain, not sure about the Accord. Unlike 3wide, I consider that a major factor that I always check on.

Re: Honda Accord V6

The belt needs changing every 105k miles. When the belt was changed on our Honda van is was still in awesome shape. I really wouldn't worry about that.

Re: Honda Accord V6

Hmm, I wasn't aware there were still modern-day automakers still using belts! I thought most had caught up with the times and were using chains now. At the very least, Honda. Hopefully they are using a chain on the 08.

I will say that I've driven many an Accord, and also a few 08's - my god are the interiors wonderful! Among the best, for sure. The ride is so good for that type of vehicle. Steering is relatively very good, and suspension is not boaty at all, but is not harsh either.

Interior really makes you feel relaxed and good. I'd definitely recommend it.

Re: Honda Accord V6

Honda I4 has the chain the V-6 still uses a belt. Both are superb engines.

Re: Honda Accord V6

I believe the timing belt change is at 105,000 on the honda V6 engines. Thats when my 2000 Accord suggusted the belt be changed and my 2007 TL suggests the same thing or later.

Re: Honda Accord V6

105K isn't bad...I'd still rather have a chain! on the 60K intervals.

I decided that I want the accord sedan. I'm going from a Toyota Tacoma to a Honda so this should be an interesting change. As for color I'm having a tuff time making up my mind on what to pick!
