..but way ahead of any of it's competition. (Personal experience demonstrates the 450+hp will delivered 23-27 mpg. Yes, Scott the best of both worlds - Honda mileage if desired or 0-60 in 3.6 with 1-2 mpg. )

Porsche tried to change their formula for success with the introduction of the 928 and 924/944 series in the 80's. Thankfully, they realized the mistake and return to their original plan and have not diverge from this path (excluding SUV) since.

I see no reason for GM to follow the beat of another drummer when their present plan is true to their past and success.

Re: ZR1 redux

The only thing I wish GM would do is make their interior scream $100K car. I still hate the interior on these things. Too plain for my taste and I'd like to see at least a momo style steering wheel.

Put I do like the car.

However, for the price I think I would of liked to have a Ford GT better.

yet the pushrod design allows for fewer engine parts, a compact design (the LS series engine is very small and lightweight), heads that flow great, and responds very well to mods, but it is behind the times?

You need to do some research.

It will have the largest rear brakes that I know of, but the F430 Scuderia has slightly larger front brakes.
I look forward to seeing the first person to paint all the skirting/plastic body color, that will look good! Can't wait to see this on the street! I wish GM would do more with the interior tho. At this price range you really should get better.

Re: ZR1 redux

Well, you can get a full leather interior on the ZR1. It will be interesting to see what it looks like in person. Personally I don't see what's wrong with the C6 based interior. It's not amazing but it's not cheap looking either.

I think most people buying a Corvette would rather have a $45k car that is fast fast fast and with an acceptable interior, than a $60k car that is fast fast with a really nice interior.

Of course the ZR1 is bigger money, but they are also trying to keep it light. I guess we'll see if buyers are turned off by the interior or really don't care about stuff like that. I suspect with 700+ hp only a pulley swap away, most buyers won't care much about the interior.

FYI on the GT, if the ZR1 comes in at $100k, the Ford GT is 50% more expensive. So it's not surprising it would have a nicer interior.
