Quick Detailers and the clear bra.

I have a 2007 Honda CRV in Tango Red Pearl that has a 3M clear bra installed on the front section of the hood. I have noticed that the clear bra scuffs quite easily when using my quick detailer (Werkstatt Acrylic Glos) and a plush microfiber to remove even light dust. The clearcoat on the paint does just fine.

Evidently the clearcoat on the clear bra is much softer than that on the paint. The scuffs can be easily polished out with Werkstatt Prime:Strong, but I would rather not have to do that so often.

My question is, does anyone have any recommendations for a different quick detailer that might work better? And have you had personal experience with using it on a clear bra?

Thanks

Duke

Re: Quick Detailers and the clear bra.

Funny I've used Meg's QD, Glazes, and Wax on my Bra without any probelms. One thing you want to stay away from is anything with abrasives in it. Yes it is a very soft plastic.

If you've got some Plexus around it works wonders, not a QD I know but just as fast application wise.

Re: Quick Detailers and the clear bra.

Thanks MorBid!

I don't really have any trouble with scuffs and the like when applying sealants. I use the Werkstatt AJT, and really like it. The Acrylic Glos is advertised as a QD that is half car wash and half AJT. It does have a fair amount of drag to it when first applied. It is also possible that I should be wetting the microfiber cloth more before I first use it.

I do have another QD product I really like that I should probably try, too. I was just trying to stay in the Werkstatt product line for compatability when I want to put on another layer of AJT.

I have read that Plexus works well on the clear bra from others, too. I guess I'll need to get some and give it a try.

Thanks,

Duke

I'm the one that posted last night about the scratches in my clear bra when I picked it up. I see that you are seeking a new QD method for your clear bra. I guess I need to do the same now, but I want to pickup that Wekstatt product first to remove what I have. I posted pics after your post and was curious if this was similar to what you have had and were able to remove.

Thanks,

The clear bra scuffs easily, but I've never had issues using a QD.

I use JW Quick Wash and Z-6 to clean my clear bra.

Once in a while, I'll use a plastic polish to clean them too.

Re: Quick Detailers and the clear bra.

Take a look at Blackfires One Step Cleaner, Polish and Glaze. Thats what we use on Harley windshields.
