3 a day rule

I have read all over that you shouldn't use BF or Z (with zfx) more than 3 times in one day. I know there is a 1 per day rule with klasse.. but that's because you need to give it time to cure. It seems that even taking the time to let the Z/BF dry and cure a little you could easily do 5 coats in one day. What makes 3 such a magic number? Is it only a sugestion to do only 3? Or is there some logic and chemestry behind it that makes more than 3 detrimental to the finish?

ZFX reduces cure time, however, it does not make it cure instantly. The product still needs time to cure. If you apply too many coats back-to-back, you'll simply be removing previous coats or the surface will get tacky. I have applied up to 5 coats in a single day without a problem, but I live in a very dry climate. I think when Sal wrote the instructions, he was trying to take all environmental conditions in to account.

David is right on. In areas with higher humidity after 3 coats the surface will tend to "gum up".

Question

Does the 3 a day rule apply to blackfire also?

People say it applies to Klasse, Zaino, Blackfire and wax... For one .... I don't go for it. I know I should, it is going to allow me to save more product, use less towels and save me time but I don't know, its literally too tempting only to layer on one or two layers. This upcoming weekend, I was talking to Jason from this fourm and he's tell me to go with 1 layer of glaze and 1 layer of wax but I will go for 2 of each. It's just part of me to overdo it with car detailing whether it is stripping the previous coat or not. The extra coat that stripped the previous one may of missed .1 percent of the shine so I may not have 200% shine from two layers and only 100.1% but it's still more than 100% right????

I was pretty excited about BF because it had a faster cure time. I was all pumped to throw on a ton of coats right away. I ended up just doing the first two on the first day and then adding only 4 more coats over the course of a month. 5 layers was the peak for Klasse and since the bottles of Blackfire won't last as long as Klasse, I decided to spare some for later. I supposed you could do 3 in one day. Maybe give each layer 20 minutes to cure or something just to be on the safe side. While one layer is curing you could be doing the glass or something. It would be a fun way to spend an entire day. Too bad that Murphy's law says that it will have to rain as soon as possible if you spend that much time on your car.
