Re: Since others are posting "how I wash cars" threads, here is mine

I like it. I have washed my cars myself for 22 years. Been to a car wash once and I was pissed at the job they did so I made them wash it again.....got it home and wanted to kick myself because my interior smelled like a mildew rag and I could see the dirty towel scratches in the paint. NEVER AGAIN!. The only thing I have not gotten into is the ONR. I take care of my cars at home and have pleanty of room and do warm water washes. good write up.

Honestly, if you try a rinseless washing and get the technique down (takes a couple washes) you may end up not wanting to bother dragging out a hose to wash unless your car is caked in mud!

Re: Since others are posting "how I wash cars" threads, here is mine

Man I should have read this before I went to work today! I washed and waxed a brand new black escalade and it took almost 4 hours. I have never spent that much time on a wash and wax. The lady is VERY miticulous and its pretty big.
I used ONR once and it took forever. I guess thats why you say it will take some getting used to. I would like to just use ONR but I have to practice. If I would have done that suv in less than an hour I would have had time for an exterior detail, that had to get pushed to tuesday. Anyway great write up. thanks

I'm going to go for it!! based on my readings here, there are 101 uses for ONR.

I will down in Houston for the offtopic.com national meet the 3rd weekend in June (baring anything catastrophic) so I will let you know exactly when I will be down there and if I have time, I can show you how to use ONR...but you will probably figure it out before then!

Re: Since others are posting "how I wash cars" threads, here is mine

Thanks for taking the time to put this together, Scott. I've recently begun using ONR but had not really found a wash medium I was crazy about. I picked up a chenille wash pad today based on your post. I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

This is exactly the reason why I love this site so much, you don't get this kind of informative sharing anywhere else. Thanks Scott.
