Question How long to wait? Zaino?

Its 45 deg. out. Could'nt wait any longer had to apply Zaino.
Washed with dawn, then rewashed with Z7. Used about 1 oz. of Z1 and about the same amount of Z2. Used Z6 on applicator when I applied Z2. How long at this temp. should I wait before buffing off? It's sunny out but windy, blowing alot of dust around so its parked in the garage. Did'nt want to get dust all over it.

For Z1+Z2 @ 45*, at least 1 hour, maybe 2 or even 3 depending on humidity. When in doubt, always do the finger swipe test. If it wipes clean, it's ready to buff. If it smears, leave it to dry longer.

Like Metallic Mike said. I see you used about 1oz for the coat, so my guess is it will take more than 1 hour. Or if possible, let it dry overnight. Your best bet is use ZFX at cold climate. I don't normally use ZFX when I detail in daytime here in L.A., but at night time I always use ZFX. Remember, you have 2 products on the car drying at same time so it will take a bit longer time than usual!

I can't comment opn the Z1 since I never used it.

I have applied Z2 w/ ZFX when it was 45F in my garage. I let it dry for 20 mins and it came off with no problems

Here's my findings for a 1st time Zaino user. Waited about one hour. Started with my hood and it just was'nt coming off that easy. I new I was, or did something wrong. Too thick of a coat , not dry enough yet !
So I want on to the side panels much easier removal. But it seemed like it was oily and still moving around. I'd buff it and it would smear over at the end of the pass. But I kept at it for almost 3 hours with my 500 watt halogen light at my side. Using a Z6 mist every once and a while on my towel.
AlBoston I didn't use Z5 this time cause the car is only 2 weeks old and I did'nt think I needed it. However now that the first coat is on WOW what a shine, I can't believe it Awesome!!! But now I can see little scratches here and there and will order come Z5 before I do my next layer. William 240, does this ZFX act like a hardening agent? And only should be used when its cold. Does this add to the longevity of the product? Met Mike I will remember the finger swipe test next time. No one had posted answers to my question soon enough (Gee and I thought this was real time, question answered in seconds ) Thanks all.

ZFX is a hardening agent. It also will allow you to apply up to 3 coats of Z2 and or Z5 in 24 hours. With Z1 you have to wait 8-24 hours before you apply the next coat. If its humid out, Zaino will dry faster with ZFX also. Sal claims a better shine with ZFX as well. When you get process down you will want to do three coats in a day
