Question Applying tire dressing / Protectant to ribbed sidewall tires

I know some ribbed rubber products are designed to increase pleasure, but the ribbed sidewalls on my Goodyear F1 Supercar tires are a real pain.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to apply tire dressing / protectants and get an even coat?

Why the heck do they rib the sidewall anyway?

I use a damp or slightly wet applicator...

Apply the product liberally and then buff........works for me!
