Will Klasse remove scratches?

I know it is a cleaner and will remove old wax and residues.

But the bottle says that it will remove fine scratches and swirls. It also says "Non-Abrasive".

How can both be true.

I just got my PC. I also got some Klasse AIO and some Optimum Polish. I figured that I would use the OP the first time so that I could remove some of the fine scratches that are on the car. Once those are gone, I can maintain the finish with proper washing and waxing. Then every so often do a full detail starting with AIO to remove any old wax or contaminants on the car. Does that sound like the right plan? Or if AIO actually does remove the scratches is it safer to try that first before the OP?

Also, does it make sense to use AIO before claying? I know that clay is probably a better cleaner, but my logic is that if I use the AIO first, I can get better mileage out of the clay bar.

Re: Will Klasse remove scratches?

So if I'm going to clay first, and Klass doesn't fix scratches, should I use the Klasse at all?

Will it really make that much of a difference in preparing the paint after claying?

I'm not sure that I need to clay, I'll check after I wash the car. So my process will be something like this..

Wash
Clay or AIO (Depending on how rough the paint is)
Optimum Polish (to remove some cobwebbing, minor scratches, and imperfections)
Klasse Sealer/Glaze (Possibly 2 coats because it's winter time and I could use some extra protection)
Pinnacle Souveran Wax

If I decide not to clay and use the AIO to clean the paint first, which pad should I use, white or orange. Keep in mind I'm not using the AIO for defect removal, just to prep the surface for the OP. I plan on starting with a white pad for the OP then moving to an orange if necessary. Also, which pads should I use for the rest of the process

KSG - White or gray pad?
Souveran - Gray or blue pad?

I only have one gray and one blue pad. I have two white pads, and two orange.

Re: Will Klasse remove scratches?

I think you should do some more reading around here first

wash
clay
polish
aio
sg x2(with 12 hrs between coats)
wax(after 12 hrs)

you will need the aio for the sg to bond correctly
and if this is your first time using sg..when you think you have it on thin it is still to thick

who's pads?
op= polish/cut pad
aio=polish pad
sg= finish pad
wax=a different finish pad(I like to wax by hand)

Re: Will Klasse remove scratches?

Thanks Jim,

I've actually done quite a bit of reading around here. I just registered recently so I could start posting some questions that I couldn't find answers to.

So it sounds like you're saying that I need to use the AIO for no other reason than to give the KSG something to bond to. That doesn't make sense to me. If it's a paint cleaner/polish, then shouldn't it just leave clean paint behind?

Re: Will Klasse remove scratches?

no, it leaves(and I quote"an elastic non-chip, shrink-proof, heat and
scratch resistant acrylic finish"

you can try the sg with out if you want but aio is very easy to use and
will help the sg last longer!

good luck!

Re: Will Klasse remove scratches?

Any tips that ensure a thin application?

I was going to use a PC and a Wolfgang gray pad. Probably a half dollar size dab of SG on the pad for each panel. No Pressure, just the weight of the machine as I move it back and forth across the panel overlapping each pass halfway.

How does that sound? What speed should the machine be on?

Re: Will Klasse remove scratches?

Less- I find that I simply can't get the super-thin application by PC, I do better by hand.

Try speed 3.5-4.5, that's the range I use for applying LSPs. I probably use speed 4 most of the time.

I'd try to use far less than a half dollar size amount of KSG. FWIW, I use far less than one ounce to do our minivan, probably less than *half* an ounce! I hold the applicator over the bottle and shake it, this deposits a drop of KSG on the pad. Then I move the pad and repeat the process until I think I have enough KSG on the pad.

Re: Will Klasse remove scratches?

yep, like I sayed too thick!

half dollar size dab of SG will be enough for the whole car!

I think Accumulator method sounds good
but I use a long nose hair dye bottle from the beauty supply shop
to apply small drips to the pad and a spray of 425 to prime the pad first
