Re: How long do you guys spend on a basic wash?

Depends on the vehicle and the condition. On my car, 45 min *max*, and that includes dressing everything.

Re: How long do you guys spend on a basic wash?

4 hours? What did you clean with, a toothbrush? 4 hours should be enough to dress all plastics/rubber and reapply an lsp!

Re: How long do you guys spend on a basic wash?

About an hour for my two-bucket wash with foamgun, drying with ww towels, and dressing the tires. A bit more if really dirty.

Four hours? I love a clean, swirl-free, glowing car, but if it took me four hours to wash, then I retire.

I have a job, two part-time jobs, and two children. 'Nuff said.

Re: How long do you guys spend on a basic wash?

For my car, wheels/wells, paint, windows, dry, QD, dress, I often find myself taking 1-2 hours depending on how "detailed" I want to get.

Re: How long do you guys spend on a basic wash?

I would say it takes me on avg about an hour for a wash, tire dressing and with qd or AW.

Four hours is absolutely ridiculous but if that what it takes.

Re: How long do you guys spend on a basic wash?

If you include setup and cleanup time it takes me around 2 hours maybe a little less to wash my car. I usually am taking my time though. I'm probably having a drink and maybe smoking a cigar the whole time. So, I'm not exactly rushing through the whole thing. If I'm in a rush then I can cut it down to about an hour.

Doesn't Accumulator take 4 hours to wash his car? I'd like to see that.

Exterior wash only? I'm averaging 45mins, once everything is setup (two buckets, soap diluted in foamgun, running the extension cable, etc).

Gee I reckon a wash that fast would induce some swirls, unless it is very fast no pressure gliding of mitt over surface and using multiple mitts.

When I washed at home, about 30 mins to wash, 40 minutes to dry, QD and dress tyres
Now it's 3 minutes 30 seconds for a high pressure only wash and rinse, 25 minutes to dry, all with far less marring than when I washed at home.

Re: How long do you guys spend on a basic wash?

Not including time to get all the goodies out, its about 30-45 minutes for a regular sized car, including the wheel wells and doing a good job cleaning the wheels and tires. One hour for QEW but that includes filling the buckets and rinsing them out. I could see spending two hours on a car that was really dirty. Some cars are so dirty they just have to be washed twice.
