Exclamation Mothers Clay Bar Followup

Hey Guys,

I just tried the Mothers Clay Bar Paint Saving System on our 96 Astro.
It comes with:
-Clay Bar
-Showtime QD
-Carnauba Cleaner Wax

I was impressed at how well the Showtime lubricated the clay, but the problem I had was I couldn't wipe it clean! It just left streaks everywhere(something I haven't come across with Zaino Z-6!!) It took quite abit of elbow grease to get it clear, even after the waxing!!

It's a fine clay package, but I wouldn't use Showtime as a QD!!

Just to let you know my results!!

I just did mine with mothers yesterday and had the same results as you. I used the mothers QD for lube and then cleaned up with meguiar's and it did a much better job....

For a quick solution.......

Wash with dawn to remove, and then follow up with your favorite wax or sealant.

I love Mothers quick detailer. I haven't come across another QD that makes the surface shine like it does and makes the surface as slipery as it does!

It does streak easily if you don't know how to apply it. If you use the mothers on a hot surface, then it'll streak easy. That is the only thing I don't like Other QDs you can use in the sun with no problem.

You have to apply a very thin mist and then use your towel to spread it over an area quickly, and then flip to a dry side and go over the surface in fast movements. Don't use any downward pressure when buffing it off, just very quick movements with no pressure.

A couple of suggestions:

1) make sure the paint is not hot to the touch. This will dry the detailer up, leaving streak marks.

2) use quality towels, turning them over frequently. When they become loaded up with detailer/damp, get another towel

3) use small amounts of detailer, and work a smaller area. This will prevent the drying and streaking.

Hope this helps.

I'll second the wash . . .

I just clay and don't worry about the QD drying on the car. After claying I wash the car and then start polishing
