Question Is this the correct Wash and Shine procedure?

So let me get this right since I am new to car care. First of all Hi to All, this is a great forum. I have read the guide from Autopia and there are just so many products out there!!! I want to know what I plan to do is sufficient. I plan to get some ONR ,Optimum Poli-Seal and a clay bar. As far as I understand from what I read, I will:

1) Clean my car with ONR first
2) then clay bar it
3) and then I use the Optimum Poli-Seal

Do I need an extra step if I have swirl scratches?

Is this enough to give a good shine that last? Or I need more products like the Klasses SG or Optimum Spray Wax. Does this Optimum Poli-Seal keep the dust away so the shine won't look like crap the next day? Sorry for all those question, and thank you in advance.

Kin

You have pretty much got it down. If you need to remove defects, an abrasive machine polish may be nessisary, but if not then you are fine. Are you working by hand or machine? You may want to pick up some OCW, or Duragloss Aquawax(my vote) to maintain it.

Hi Bigpoppa,

I am working by hand. Now if I use the OCW after the ONR and the Poli-Seal, when I wash it the next time (in 2 week?) with ONR, will I have to use the Poli-Seal and the OCW again?

No, the Poli-seal alone can probably last a few months. I would do ONR every week or two then OCW every month or so to keep it fresh.

Thank you you've been a big help, now I hope they come out with smaller sizes for the Poli-Seal as I don't need a whole gallon! Or if anyone wants to share the 1 gallon Poli-Seal in NYC?
