3M Swirl Mark Remover

Okay, this is probably a dumb question, but are both "flavors" (dark and light) of 3M Swirl Mark Remover basically the same? What I'm really asking is whether the dark and light versions are the same level of abrasiveness?

A second question is that I've seen a 3M product packaged in quart bottles and labeled as Foam Pad Polish. Is this the same product as Swirl Mark Remover?

Thanks in advance for your help.

They are basically the same, however, they are a different color. The dark car formula is dark grey, whereas the light car formula is cream in color.

I have not seen "Foam Pad Polish", 3M makes a lot of products. Some are the same product repackaged for different markets.

It's probably the same stuff. The full name for 3M's swirl remover is "3M™ Perfect-It™ Foam Polishing Pad Glaze Swirlmark Remover"

They contents of the bottles look the same, so I figured it was. The interesting point was that I found it at an auto paint supply and the cost of the quart bottle is higher than two pint bottles at Pep Boys.

There have been threads on this . . .

search for dark light smr by puterbum. I posted inside of YoSteve's thread as well as another one which DETAILKING posted some good responses to, refuting the point somewhat .

[edit: where is that last thread I mentioned?]
