The Honda engine would be a great improvement; for all I know they switched to those because of all the problems with the one I have. I'll keep your experience in mind and maybe not write off Karchers completely after all, so thanks for posting that!
Beside the point, the best small engine I have is an ancient Kohler; the one time it didn't start on the first pull I had it serviced (carb/ingnition overhaul), and that's *once* in 20 years

Too noisy and polluting for them to sell it these days though...
