MorBid- Nah, all my Karchers are a lot older than that...those you linked to look downright space-age compared to mine

That'd be a drag if my hose wouldn't screw onto a better PW...I'd have to get my gas one serviced for the umpteenth time The PW itself seems to work OK, it's just the engine...or maybe it's never run long enough for the pump to get any real use.

My Karcher has a 5.5hp Honda motor and is probably the best starting small motor I have. Mine is a 4 stroke with electric ignition...runs perfect.

I did have to have the pump replaced, but that is because I left it in the garage over winter time and some water that was still in it froze.

Maybe check your spark plug. It could be damaged or fouled.

Mattz280- I *wish* it was just something simple like the sparkplug...it's always in the carb and I can't figure out how it can have so many problems (not the shop's fault, they do great with my other stuff). The shop just when I take it in- "here we go again".

The Honda engine would be a great improvement; for all I know they switched to those because of all the problems with the one I have. I'll keep your experience in mind and maybe not write off Karchers completely after all, so thanks for posting that!

Beside the point, the best small engine I have is an ancient Kohler; the one time it didn't start on the first pull I had it serviced (carb/ingnition overhaul), and that's *once* in 20 years Too noisy and polluting for them to sell it these days though...
