| | Guest | I finally bought a new car!!! I just bought a 2002 Lexus IS300 and it is silver, thats right SILVER (no black this time) with black interior. The dealer however already took the plastic off it and cleaned it. When I get it home should I just dawn wash it, clay, and then SG or do you think I need AIO. Thanks everyone. | |

I think everyone in MA has bought a car from Herb, or at least it seems that way. Interesting guy, not too impressed with his dealerships though. My family has purchased 3 cars from him, pretty soon he will own all of the dealers in MA . Enough of my ranting, congrats again on the new ride!! Very cool car indeed!!

Congrats, you must be elated! Now, show us some pix to drool over will ya?!

I know that I will probably get flamed on this, but...I firmly believe that it is time well spent.
Congratulations on your new wheels!!

The 3 Lexus dealers closest to me all wax the car as part of the prep work. So personally, I'd use AIO (1 or 2 applications) to remove any wax and then apply SG over it.
I tend to be conservative when it comes to new cars, so I stay away from Dawn washes (bad for paint if overdone, according to Ron K. and Sal of Zaino. Something about harming the plasticizers) and claying.
