2005 Honda Accord

I'm detailing my sisters Blue Accord Tuesday, any tips on Honda paint? Is Honda paint hard or easy to polish out? Any tips on Blue paint? I'm guessing her car is swirl city!
My plan is wash, clay, polish with optimum and the white Sonus pad( yellow pad if white doesn't cut it), finishing with DG bonder, 105, and AW. I'm out of swirlbuster darn it.
She does not take good care of her car at all. Not sure what her routine is but it always looks like crap. The paint on the car she sold my daughter was totally hosed up, everything bad you can think of. I've spent hours trying to bring that back to life!
Any help, tips or tricks will be appreciated! Thanks!

Guy - if it is the dark blue color, it should be easy to work on, I have cleaned up one with OC and an orange pad. White will not do it.

Honda paint is super easy! I corrected a badly swirled red 05' Accord with IP and orange, which on all other paints is never enough.

Get a silver car. dark blue is as bad as black. It only looks good for 20min. or so.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

making silver look outstanding is how you show off your talent. Dark cars look good just by giving them a wash.

I'm hoping to do a fantastic job on her car. There are lots of well paid people at her work that have lots of nice expensive cars! Oh, and I want to do something nice for my sister! The car will be here in a few hours, can't wait to get started!

well, she brought the car over and it was very poorly maintained. Bugs, dirt, swirls, you name it! I washed it twice after a good long soak, first time with dawn, then meguiars wash. Paint was very rough, 2 times around with clay, first time the sonus gray, then the sonus yellow. Another quick wash followed by Optimum polish and sonus yellow pad. Went around twice withis combo, then once with the white pad. It took out about 85% of the scratches and all the swirls. She has door dings and some deep scratches from parking up close to the door at work. She has had ankle surgery and is due for 2 knee replacements.
I tried something new this time. I polished the entire vehicle then washed the residue off. Seems like this was less abrasive to the paint. Other times I wiped the residue off I was wondering how many swirls and scratches I was putting in by doing this, the wash worked great!
Next was the DG 601, followed by a coat of the 105, let it sit a half hour then buffed the top and hood. All I can say is wow! A big blue deep lake, looks like you can jump right in! Another thing I found out, buffing off the 105 is much easier with a cotton towel. I use the vroom diaper cotton towel. It drags a lot less then the MF and seems to be better for the paint.
Tomorrow another coat of the 105, then the interior, already did the wheels and tires.
Pics tomorrow as I'm tired and worn out, been a rough day!
