Amazing! Windows streaks finally gone!

For the longest time, I've been struggling with windows on my windshield. The window looks clean when it's dry but when water is on the windshield and/or the wipers pass over certain spots, there is a definite streaking going on. In particular, at the end of the wiper travel, there is a streak about 1 inch wide and a 12" long.

These streaks would just not go away no matter what I tried.. I even tried claying my windshield with no results.

On the advice of JazzyJack, I tried a 50/50 mixture of distilled vinegar and water. I sprayed it on the windshield, let it sit for a few minutes then used #0000 steel wool in small circular motions. I kept the steel wool wet with the 50/50 mixture and went over the entire windshield. Once finished, I sprayed the mixture on again, let it sit and repeated with the steel wool. I did this about 5 times.

Before I left my apartment I cleaned my windshield with EO 20/20 and while driving to the carwash, the window was streaking like crazy. After trying out the steel wool cleaning method, I didn't clean my wipers just to be sure the streaking was gone. I drove back to my apartment and it was raining like crazy.. usually my windshield streaks, but not this time! All the streaking was gone.

Just thought I'd share this technique that might possibly help someone else!

When I got back to my apartment, I proceeded to apply Aquapel. See my next post for my experience.
