Griots Garage cotton cloths

Do any of you use griots garage 100% cotton cloths? What are all your guys opinions on there cloths? I am primarily thinking about using them to remove zaino. Please give me your opinions.

Here is the link to them http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog....1001&SKU=14600

How plush are they and how well do they survive frequent washings?

IMO, the plushness is about the same as the ones you can find in the mall. I've used them before and they work... They don't scratch if that's your question. I do think they are overpriced though!

Washed them about 20 times so far and it's still in 1 pc. no rips.

I bought the set of 5 which came with 2 for dry, 2 for wax removal and 1 cotton wash mitt. The thing I like is the towels are labeled with words "DRY" "WAX" etc. so your Mom/GF/Wife won't steal them. I've used the cotton wash mitt but later found Viking 100% chenille works much better (holds more suds).

scratching

Will these cotton cloths scratch if I only use them for removing zaino? Also, how many of them would I need to remove a coat of zaino from my car? They come in ten packs of 19" by 19" do you think that would be enough or should I order two ten packs of them?

Thanks!

Have you tried Microfiber?

Sorry, I guess I'm a microfiber Zealot . I highly recommend trying out some good microfiber. You can find them from www.yosteve.com (I hear the new ones are awesome!) www.neatitems.com www.properautocare.com www.tacscar.com www.topoftheline.com . Most of these are different towels but you should have good luck with any of them.

I dare to say that most here prefer microfiber over cotton. Yes, I know Zaino recommends cotton but you cannot go wrong with microfiber. Pick up a few and try them out before buying 20 cottons!

FWIW I remember people saying (*I have not used these*) the Griot's MFs are not as good as most reputable microfiber.

No the towels themself do not scratch if you want to use them for removing Zaino. 10 is more than enough. I usually use 2 towels per coat (folded in quarter, 1 section/panel, flip side etc...)

Like microfiber Zealot said , I strongly suggest looking into those microfiber towels! Those are what I use now.

What towels are you using for drying? Might want to look into Big Blue Drying Towel from CMA.

I have some of the Griots MF towels (3) and they don't compare to the neatitems.com MF's. The NI towels are much plusher.

I am pretty new to all this detailing stuff so right now I am basicly gathering all my stuff together and reading this board trying to learn all I can. As far as the Big Blue Drying Towel from CMA I planned on oredering two of them as soon as they get more in and turn the order button back on.

Thanks!

griot's cloths

I pretty much prefer microfiber myself, however I also have the Griot's cloths. They are nice cotton cloths and won't scratch.

However I didn't get them from Griot's.

I ordered them from www.dccarcare.com. I'm almost positive they are the same thing and I got more for cheaper than Griot's sells them for.
