Polishing Aluminum (Touch Up) - All One Direction Or Cross Hatch?

I have a polished aluminum Canton coolant tank on my Mustang, and I want to give it a freshen up with Wenol Blue. My question is, should I go all one direction, or should I go about it in a cross hatch direction? I had it professionally polished last summer, but there are some fine scratches that I would like to remove.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

All in one direction. Polishing does cause some very fine scratching. The better the polish job the finer (less noticable) the scratching - but it's there. If you polish in one direction you will only be able to notice the scratches from one direction. If you cross-hatch you double the directions from which you can notice the scratching.
