Cool Any Feedback on Blue Coral 'Wash and Wax'

I've been reading through the various advisory threads, and have been trying products from CMA and other online vendors as well as local suppliers. I recently purchased Blue Coral 'Wash and Wax' from Walmart figuring I'd use it for the 'in between times' as a carnuba-based reinforcement to the AIO/SG/Carnuba I put on the 928. The cost was under $3.00 for about a gallon.

I tried the product last weekend on the Explorer, although I haven't gotten around to detailing it as yet. Gosh -- what a surprise. Water beads up just like the Porsche, and the car looks great. I got into all the 'cracks' since there was a ton of red clay dust, and the car looks better than new. I used it to clean the wheels, interior vinyl, and windows as well. I used a fully wet or squeezed-out damp terry towel and followed with a synthetic chamois depending on the surface (plus a dry terry on the inside windows). The results were amazing. I'm sorry, but I love this 'cheap' stuff.

Downside: The bubbles didn't last, and I used a lot of product on a single car (about twenty cents worth) -- just kept making fresh buckets as needed.

Anyone else try this stuff or know if it's detrimental to the finishes I used it on? A week later, the surfaces still look and feel great.

I use it too.

Yes, I use this as well. It seems I've tried all the major brands of car wash out there. At 4 bucks for a huge tub of it, I think it's quite a good buy. I've been using it for years on all my cars. I was skeptcal about it (being so cheap), but it's the only one I've found that doesn't seem to leave any soapy marks behind (and I've tried alot of 'em). I do use more than the recomended amount to get more suds, however. I don't give much credience to the "wax" claims, but that's not what I bought it for anyway. No complaints here.

I could see using it but I did not want the wax stuff in my soaps.

hmm, i've been using this stuff for a while and thought it was ok.
just okay. nothing special. but nothing bad. considering the price, i thought it was ok.

then again, thats b4 i knew this board and all the other 'good' stuff out there.

so i had since gotten GOLD CLASS> and then Z7

differences are night and day.
and i really donno about the fact that the wax is already in the wash... makes me a bit uncomfortable. it's an ok product, but feels a lil cheap and generic now i got the 'good stuff'

What is the big difference from Gold Class to Blue Coral....

I have used both and aside from the smell and the difference in suds I don't notice much of a difference. Neither of them strip the Klasse on my car and they both clean quite well....

I don't know about Z7, never used the stuff.

Thumbs up duck or duck sheeting.....

There is a car wash out there called duck or duck wash. I heard it is great for sheeting action and helps with the drying process.???

I used that stuff for probably 5+ years and it is a good product but there are better ones. I'll pay the extra couple bucks for Gold Class, smells better and provides better lubricity. Not a bad product though.

It probably has something in it that it is putting on the paint. Could be an oil type substance (like stuff in Quickdetailer) or a wax. I think that is probably the only way for it to help the sheeting action. I want my soap to clean, not leave a residue.

Gold Class was definitely better than Coral wash&wax.
and the smell... and the thick honey luxury feel of the product... makes the washing experience that much better too...

although i have to say that Z7 tops Gold Class even <img src=http://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif>

Soapy residue or is it just me??

I liked Gold Class as well, but I've had trouble with soup residue left behind. I kept cutting down on the amount I would use, but I still had the same problem. After I dried the car, I could see soapy lines all over in certain light. Perhaps I was still using too much?? Any one else here have that streak problem with GC?
