Trouble removing shampoo from custom carpets...tips?

Hey guys - I was doing an interior job on a car with a customer interior today. The carpets are this really low fine pile job that's almost like velvet. They're light colored (like an off white) and were really soiled. I used the regular woolite:water mix and it didn't really accomplish much, so I tried a 3:1 mix which actually did a really good job - the problem was I was having a really hard time getting all the foamy/suds out of the carpet. I eventually did but it took way too long.

Does anyone have any tips on how to quickly do something like this? Maybe soak with water then extract like crazy?
