Hey guys

I've been lurking for awhile and thought I'd ask a few questions. I've been following the Zaino, Klasse, Blackfire discussions and just want to know one thing. Which one looks the best all by itself? I mean, without any carnuba toppers or anything like that. From what I have read, it sounds like Blackfire is the way to go. Is that too far off base? I'm just wondering because if Blackfire looks great without any carnuba at all then would it look that much better with a layer of it?

Welcome to the forum and great question...

But I think you will get three different answers to which looks better...It will depend on color, the person, etc etc.

I await the BF users replies here...

Great question!!!

Hi Snowman,

There is no best Its just what you are trying to achieve. They all have weak points and strong. I went with Klasse ,it seemed to me ,as a newbie at the time ,very simple and has been around awhile.I have no complaints with it.

I have personally only used Klasse out of those 3 and the stuff lasts forever. I put on 1x AIO and 1x SG last May on my 00 Mustang and it's still beading (this is a daily driver that is never in a garage). It has very nice durability and great shine however I don't find it that easy to apply because you can't see the darn stuff on a light colored car and it smells really bad!

But seriously if you are going to go with somthing synthetic/polymer or whatever Klasse is great.

For me... I think the BF did have a slight edge on the Klasse, with regard to a deep shine.

http://216.147.22.29/forum/showthrea...&threadid=5914

I am finding I am a 'prefer the slick feel' kind of dude. My BF wasn't delivering that after a wash. It's really no problem for me to throw on a quick layer of BF protectant after washing and my slickness is back.

Maybe it's because Klasse was my first, but I always find myself wanting to go back and work with it. This weekend I was going to experiment with a section of SG on top of the BF, well before the weekend was over I had 8 coats on the whole car. WOW, looks good. Can't wait to wash and see what happens.

My Z should be inbound, so I can comment shortly on that. Expecting BIG things from it.

Welcome to the forum, Snowman. Sorry, but I'm a Klasse guy, too, now! What you use all depends on what you want, how often you plan on waxing, the kind of shine you like, and your general goals. You can't go wrong with Klasse, though the Zaino freaks will defend Zaino to the death, saying it gives the best reflection, which it probably does. It also lasts a long time, so you may want to go the Zaino route. A lot of Klasse users prefer to top with a good carnauba such as Blitz or Souveran, but others like the look of 3 or more layers of Klasse. Most Zaino users don't top with anything. There are some BF fanatics here, but I get the feeling that there are more Zaino or Klasse users. You certainly can't go wrong with any of them!

Since I just used Blackfire yesterday, I can tell you that you are right about it being one of the better things to use. I haven't used any Z products yet but I have had a little experience with Klasse. I had multiple coats of Klasse on a white car and topped it with multiple coats of carnuba wax. After one application of Blackfire my car looked better than it did with all those other coats of Klasse. Really depending on the color of your vehicle it will change which product will look better. On white I really like Blackfire. I've seen some darker cars look really good with Zaino. Klasse is a no fail type product. I think the jury will be out on this topic for a long time. Welcome to the forum! What kind of vehicle and what color is it you are going to try this on?

Let's try to avoid a Klasse v. Zaino argument!!!!!!

If you really want to see differing opinions on the topic, search for it! You'll find PLENTY!

But hey Snowman, if you tell us your goals and how much effort you'll give, we can help out a lot more.

This is what I like about this forum. Quick and detailed answers. It is a white '99 Ford F-150 Lightning. Not much of a work truck but I like it.

I'm totally not trying to start an argument. I've been through the archives and read all the threads in the product review archive. I think I've learned way more than I intended to. lol I can tell that all three products have a pretty loyal following. Blackfire is winning some over but I think there will always be the die hard Zaino fans and Klasse fans.

I was leaning towards Klasse just based on some of the things I've seen it do on white cars. Jngrbrdman's car in particular. I love the reflection you have on your car! The blackfire looks good too. I'll be looking forward to seeing it with a few more coats of Blackfire.

Here's a good question. Do you think that it makes any difference if you apply Klasse, Blackfire, or Zaino by hand or machine? Would it effect the shine at all?

A lot of folks here seem to enjoy topping with something if they use Klasse or BF for a base. I used to use Meguiars for years, and the major reason I went to Zaino was the fact that I could layer on whenever I felt the need (or urge, its an addiction).

It seems silly to top my polymer with something that should be removed to layer on more polymer. I like the fact that I can wash on a weekend, spend 10 or 15 minutes applying another coat of Zaino, do the inside, and wipe it down. I also like the fact that Z doesn't mark trim, and in fact is perfectly fine to apply on it. I don't know if Klasse or BF can or can't do that.

Bottom line, perhaps you should try your gut instinct now, and down the road try another just for fun. I read and searched the forum quite a bit when making a decision, and I was strongly pullled in the Z direction for the above reasons.

Klasse and BF can be applied by machine with great results. Zaino can be applied by machine, but Z does not recommend this method because it uses more product than is necessary. I think someone on this forum has applied Z by machine with great results. I am going to try it soon, because I am so used to applying with the PC, and hate to see it lie dormant when I am applying.

Cool

I've seen some really great pics of white vehicles with Klasse. Snake on this board did a white RAV4 with I believe Klasse and it turned out awesome.

By the way the Lightning is a kick butt truck. Great choice get a chip and exhaust and hold on!
