Do not use a duffel bag for your carry detail kit...

I had a bottle of dressing break in my kit today and it covered everything in my kit and soaked through the bag too.

Arghh... Washing all my towels now and all my bottles, extension cord, and some other tools have a nice coat of dressing on them. Glad it was the dressing and not something like my wheel cleaner.

What do you keep your quick detail kit in? I keep the stuff I need to wash and wax my vehicle in it all the time now.

I'm thinking of going to look around at wal-mart, target, and home depot and getting a big tub and then some sort of small tub inside to hold all my bottles so incase this happens again so it won't get on everything.

I still use a duffel to carry things I need, but I won't store stuff in them. I use a Rubbermaid Roughneck 20 Gallon container to store stuff, that I got from KMart for 10 dollars.

This bag has been in the bed of my truck for about a year now. I like always having it there ready to go. Can just go get in my truck and head to the car wash without having to haul out a bag of stuff. I guess it stems from the fact that I use to keep all my equipment in my bed all the time for mobile detailing.

Hmmm. I stopped storing stuff in my trunk, because I figured the extreme heat would eventually damage the plastic containers. My car is under the Hawaiian sun 24/7. I've had a break in my duffel before, (fortunately it was upholstery cleaner). But I never blamed the bag, I blamed my own laziness to leave it where it'd break easily.

Now I take the bag out of my car and leave it under the stairs. Someday, I'll invest in a storage container with shelving. But this works for now. But go with the tub idea. Cheap and modular for easy storage.

I don't blame the bag for the break. I just want a container now that if it happens again, then it doesn't spread on everything.

I use a rubbermaid container. It's not real big probably just a 10 gallon size

I put some stuff in plastic bags to reduce any leaks. I get the newspaper delivered in bags which are long and fit bottles nicely. I did have a bottle of wax break in my bag before this, what a mess. Also put stuff into smaller containers to keep in the car.

Intel,

Wrap your bottle stuff, or better "seal" your bottles in Ziplock baggies and then place them in your duffel. This way spills are contained. I use the big gallon size baggies.
