Mix Ratio for ZFX to Z2 or Z5

Hi Gang,

How about ZFX? I just read the Zaino site and the mixing instructions for ZFX. Has anyone gotten through a bottle of it yet? I'm just wondering what ratio it has to the other bottles. Here's what's on the site:
"Pour one to two ounces of Show Car Polish into a
2 ounce mixing bottle. For each ounce of polish,
add 4 to 5 drops of ZFX. (no more than 10 drops for
two full ounces), screw the cap back on, and shake
vigorously for 60 to 90 seconds."

What are you getting from that? 5 to 1 mix approximately? I can't picture it, so I'm wondering if anyone is practicing, could you let me know? I want to order some more Z and I like the looks of ZFX. (Even though I used my Z1 only twice - D'OH!!)

Also, if you do mix more than you need, does the accelerator + product mix have a short life in the mixer bottle? In that case, it would be better to mix too little than too much. You can always mix a little more....no?

One last question!! Can you apply accelerated Z2 and Z5 in the same day? There shouldn't be a problem with that should there??

Enjoy your weekends - Its Storm time in Dublin. The River has flooded and winds over 80 miles per hour are howling out there. Worst weather in decades for the little big city.

Be Good,

Brian

Woah!

Add 4 to 5 drops as instructed. If you add too much, the working time, it reduced. If you add too little, the instant cure effect could take a bit longer. SAL perfected this by testing it for over a year on many cars with manyusers under many different conditions. Follow the guidelines and it is idiot proof!

The ZFX comes in a little tiny bottle that provides enough to mix with 16 oz. of Z5 and/or Z2.

The ZFX mix should be used within 6 hours and must be used within 12 hours (I think, I don't have it with me).

I just mix one ounce of Z5 or Z2 with 4 drops of ZFX. It gives me enough to do 2 full coats with no waste, and plenty of time. If I want to do a 3rd coat, I just mix a 1/2 oz. with 2 drops.

I don't think there's any problem doing accelerated Z5 and Z2 the same day, although I haven't tried it. I usually like to do 3 x Z5 before going to Z2, to minimize swirls.

Hope this helps.

I think you can do Z5 w/ ZFX and Z2 w/ZFX in the same day as long as you don't go over the 3 coat max in 24 hours rule.
