Save your money. Don't go out and get a "budget" polisher. Those suck and won't give you the results you're looking for.
The one you want is the Porter Cable 7424/7336 orbital polisher. There are lots of places to buy one:
http://store.yahoo.com/autopia
http://www.autogeek.net
http://www.coastaltool.com

Or you can get the same exact thing from Meguiars under the G100 name for an extra $50 or more

Here's your best internet deal, I think--at least better than the ones Maxy listed http://www.detailersparadise.com/Vie...2D122521261403
$120 with free shipping, plus it's the 7336 which already has the 6" counterweight.

You get both 5" and 6" counterweights from Coastal.

I agree with the others. Go with a Porter Cable or stick to detailing by hand.

Lowe's has it for $109, but I bought mine when they had a 20% off sale on all tools, roughly $88. Pads and a velcro backing plate will run about $50 to start. If the link doesn't work The Porter Cable 7336SP is under Lowe's part number 51472, search for it on their website. Mine came with the 6" counterweight and the cheap foam pad that vibrates your arms off you chest.

What do you mean ACTUAL orbitals? Are you saying that the Gem orbital has a different motion than the PC 7424/7336?

Those are heavy, and they don't offer as wide of a range in speeds as the PC does.

wuss!! hehe j/k.......the weight of the buffer actually helps "get" your product into the paint better with absolutly no heat at all there for no way possible to create swirls.........if you are weak this is NOT a product for you!!!!!!

also like i said i have BOTH the 14 AND the 16 and LOVE them!!!!!
