Chrome

I was planning on replacing my factory wheels with some aftermarket ones, and had a question about chrome. Iwas thimking about getting chrome wheels especially since my car has quite a bit of chrome on the body, my question is are chrome wheeks just another headache to take care of or do they hold up well just like the painted wheels, are there any extra steps involved when careing for chrome wheels or chrome trim on the body of the car?

Treat them like the painted surface of your car and they should be fine.

I agree...

Chrome wheels will tend to stay cleaner due to the slick surface. Once they are clean, use your favorite wax to protect them and wash them with car wash and a sponge.

Caution

If you decide on chrome wheels do some research. Check into the wheel manufacturer and on the chrome plating method for the specific wheel you want. Also request a wheel care brochure direct from the company. Too many times I see people with what the thought was a chrome plated wheel ruin them because they used a stong cleaner when they weren't really chrome. Once you have a good chrome wheel, cleaning them and adding a coat of wax will make your future jobs alot easier. my .02
