Thumbs up No more Klasse Haze!!! more...

Well I brought my ML to work (filthy, hadn't been washed in 2 weeks in NE winter) and took it down to the clean up department of the dealer. I asked the detailer if I could keep my car down there (in the heat) for about an hour. He asked why, and I replied that my wax needed to cure. He laughed and said my wax was garbage and that the stuff he uses is superior. Regardless he let me keep my car down there. I'll finish the story later...

So I washed my car (couldnt do the 2 bucket ) and dried it off with an MF. I then applied my 3rd layer of SG, but the haze I noted about 2 weeks ago mysteriously disappeared... After about an hour and a half I went down to buff it off, VERY EASY to buff off when the paint is 70 degrees (wish I lived in So Cal). I immediately noted the swirl-filling effects of SG and was very happy with the results (the spaces between the swirls greatly increased, I will post pics tommorow). I then applied the finish 2001 tire gel (DK's seal of approval) and let it sit in the tires for at least 2 hours. After 2 hours I buffed off the excess to prevent it from spraying off. Well much to my dismay the gel sprayed everywhere and I am very disapointed with the product .

Ok, so back to the story. After I completed my car the detailer was amazed at the results of the Klasse SG. He threw a list of questions at me: what did you use, where did you get it, did you use the buffer, etc... And I told him, no its that wax you called stupid and overpriced

BTW: The Klasse haze issue IMO is because of cold weather and applying to much SG. I used a dry MF applicator this time and less SG. Removing it an hour later was a breeze

Haven't had the hazing, but I'm going to a dry mf app. next time too. SG came right off when I was experimenting with it on top of BF.

This guy who laughed at your choice of car wax, you didn't by chance ask him what he used that was allegedly so much better, did you? After that, I wouldn't have even told him what kind of wax it was! I'd say floor wax!

Dry MF for SG application...thanx for the tip. CMA (the place I bought Klasse) has an application guide that says to use a damp MF for application, but I'll go with the dry.

They also said the longer you wait, the easier SG is to buff off. Has anyone found that to be true?

76 degrees yesterday in So Cal. It's nice wearing shorts and getting in a round of golf in the dead of winter, but I wouldn't mind a snowy environment for a change.
In college, you could always tell where people were from by their reaction to snow.

The Klasse directions, those that came with the kit, say to apply the AIO with a damp applicator and to apply the SG with a dry applicator. I have applied the AIO damp every time and tried the SG with a damp applicator and found that you use a lot less product when applying damp and that you get much better control of the quantity you apply when the applicators are damp as well as a more evenly applied layer. I have seven layers of SG on my car and now two apps of Blitz for the winter but I noticed no difference in the finished SG apps between those that went on dry and those that went on wet. I have waited a minimum of thirty minutes to remove the SG and as long as five hours, (inadvertantly) and really did not see a lot of difference with ease of removal as related to cure time. The amount of SG for a given layer did make a difference in ease of removal however and the thinner you apply the easier it is to remove.

I definately think the thickness of the application has a huge effect on ease of removal. Too much and it takes a lot of rubbing, I agee with the outside temp. and hazing relationship.

The only times I've ever had the Klasse haze problem was either when I use too much or if the surface is too warm. I've always used a dry MF applicator and I've probably only used maybe 1/3 of the SG in the bottle. My AIO is nearly gone and my SG is nearly full. Funny considering I have more than a dozen coats of the SG on my car. I do use AIO alot though. Some of my customers don't want the SG. I'm not going to shove it down their throats so if all they want is the AIO then thats what they get. Usually when they see how good the AIO looks they want the SG.

I always wondered what people meant by 'haze' and Klasse. I always called it 'smears' because that is what it looked like. Surface temperature is pretty key for SG I believe. It has to be just right.

I had a hazing problem only once with my black car and that was the begining of August on a very humid day. After removing the SG there was a small area on the hood that had a cloudy appearance to it at certain angles. I was able to buff it out with some QD and a MFT the next morning while it was cool but that was the only time and all my other experiences with AIO/SG have been positive

The Klasse haze that I get occurs long after applying SG. I had it once right after a car wash! I was using Souveran as a topper and I stopped doing that, let the Souveran dissipate. I have not seen the haze since then. But the temp is a little cooler and a little less humid. I am definitely impressed with the longevity of the Klasse shine. I put it on almost 5 months ago and I was considering redoing it soon, but it still looks perfect, so if anything, I may just add a couple of layers of SG.

I have been using Blackfire QD on the Klasse and I think it is way better than Crystal Mist or FI on the Klasse that is not topped with a wax.

AlBoston and others, its good to see that you all are not having "hazing" issues with Klasse. Personally, I've never noticed any such problem. As far as Klasse being durable, you better believe it. It is very durable stuff. Great product in my opinion. Laters

Al, good show. I'm glad you got your problem solved. I like how your detailer said it was stupid and overpriced, (funny I thought that was what you said about his business )

Can't wait to see the pictures
